About the Company Breeze Airways is hiring for its Training Department. Breeze Flight Instructors are qualified to instruct, but only in a flight simulator, training device or both, for a particular aircraft type, performing the functions described in 14 CFR 121.401(a)(4). Role Overview The A220 Flight Instructor delivers first rate instruction for initial, recurrent, upgrade and requalification pilot curriculums, plus other projects as assigned. The training environment includes the classroom, the Flight Training Device (FTD) and the Full Flight Simulator (FFS). Key Responsibilities Represent Breeze and the Training Department at all times. Evaluate and train students fairly, thoroughly and objectively at all times. Understand thoroughly the procedures, methods and techniques associated with training pilots. Hold and maintain continuing access to, and working knowledge of, the Aviation Inspector's Handbook, FAA forms, Breeze manuals and all appropriate job aids. Instruct on A220 normal, abnormal and emergency procedures, aircraft systems, performance and limitations, general subjects and basic indoctrination under the Breeze Airways FAA-approved training programme. Complete appropriate paperwork in accordance with Breeze requirements and submit it to the Training Department complete and on time. Communicate Breeze philosophies, policies and procedures to line pilots. Prepare for and provide simulator training and ground training. Assist in the planning, coordination and scheduling of simulator training. Ensure course content meets regulatory requirements. Assist in standardisation and Training Department improvement activities under the direction of Pilot Training Management. Maintain airman certificates and ratings as required. Maintain currency before performing any Flight Instructor duty in a flight simulator by satisfactorily completing an approved line-observation programme within the period prescribed by that programme. Maintain a personal appearance, conduct and demeanour consistent with the professional, customer-oriented manner expected of a pilot. Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in line with the Breeze Aviation Group values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity and Excellence. Other duties as assigned. Licences & Qualifications Licence: unrestricted ATP certificate with airplane multi-engine class rating. Medical: must maintain a valid FAA medical certificate meeting applicable vision, hearing and physical standards. Preferred: Airbus A220 type rating. Ability to complete Breeze initial pilot training. Experience Previous US Part 121 pilot experience. Preferred: prior simulator instructor experience and prior line check pilot experience. Preferred: prior experience in aviation-related training, and in planning, developing and implementing training programmes. Preferred: prior experience in training presentation development. Requirements At least 23 years of age, with authorisation to work in the United States. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. High performance orientation, able to work well under pressure, prioritise projects, meet deadlines and stay flexible. Strong attention to detail, organisation and time management skills. Self-starter with a positive attitude and a strong desire for success. Able to complete projects on time with minimal supervision and to work varied hours when necessary to meet training requirements. Exemplifies the Breeze safety culture, values and mission, with excellent oral and written communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with individuals and teams at all levels of the organisation. Considered locally based in the training facility's local area and responsible for their own transportation to and from that facility. Physical Demands & Working Conditions Able to lift 40 lbs, and to lift and stow flight bags and equipment up to 25 lbs. Able to walk up and down stairs and on a hydraulic bridge unassisted. Able to get in and out of the flight deck seats unassisted and reach overhead panel switches as required by crew procedures. Able to fit through simulator escape hatches and to use an escape rope for egress in an emergency. Sit at the flight controls for extended periods, including long-duration flights. Operate flight controls, switches and systems requiring manual dexterity and physical force. Safely enter and exit the flight deck, including under emergency conditions.
