  • Round Rock, TX

Job Description

  • $150,000/year, paid weekly. Health, dental, and vision benefits from day one
  • Austin, TX (on-site)
  • Relocation support available
  • Competing at the highest level—as an Olympian, World Champion, or D1 First Team All-American—requires discipline few ever master. The question is whether you can distill those lessons into concrete coaching methods that elevate students into top performers.

Texas Sports Academy is where your competitive experience becomes the engine for developing champions. This isn't about observing from the sidelines. You'll be on the floor every day, actively coaching students, pushing them past their perceived limits, and holding them to championship standards. Your role isn't to tell your story—it's to convert elite athletic discipline into practical motivation strategies, deliver resilience training through interactive workshops, and lead intense practices where excellence is the baseline.

Austin provides year-round outdoor training conditions, a vibrant sports community, and a purpose-driven environment where your elite background becomes the blueprint for mentoring future leaders.

Coach with intention. Drive transformation through direct action. Apply today.

    What You Will Be Doing

    • Conducting proactive 1:1 coaching sessions where you apply your athletic discipline to create specific, actionable strategies for student motivation
    • Leading high-energy morning sessions designed to engage and energize the entire student body
    • Delivering interactive life skill workshops where students actively work through resilience, leadership, and goal-setting challenges under your direct coaching
    • Directing structured afternoon athletic training sessions that embody championship principles: creating drills, demanding effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and teamwork through sport (not simply overseeing activity)
    • Engaging proactively with every student throughout each day: moving through the space during independent work time, stepping in to motivate students when they're stuck, and generating teachable moments that spark breakthrough performance

    What You Won’t Be Doing

    • Observing passively from the sidelines: this role demands active, floor-level engagement with students, leading sessions directly, and intervening as situations unfold in real-time.
    • Delivering traditional academic instruction or adhering to preset curricula: students use adaptive learning apps for academics. Your focus is life coaching, motivation, and teaching transferable skills through sport and direct mentorship.

    Athlete Development Coach Key Responsibilities

As an Elite Guide, your responsibility is transforming Austin-based student-athletes into high-performing learners and leaders by channeling elite athletic discipline into everyday motivation, life-skills development, and rigorous sports-based training within a high-expectation school setting.

    • Take ownership of daily student motivation by monitoring progress, identifying obstacles, and guiding students toward defined academic and personal objectives.
    • Facilitate energetic morning sessions that establish a focused, competitive mindset for the day ahead.
    • Conduct life-skills workshops that build resilience, leadership, discipline, and accountability through storytelling, reflection, and hands-on student engagement.
    • Execute structured afternoon sports sessions where drills, training, and competition cultivate grit, collaboration, and elevated standards.
    • Leverage student performance data and daily observations to intervene promptly when students are disengaged, struggling, or underperforming against expectations.

    Basic Requirements

    • We're seeking former elite athletes who have proven themselves at the very top of sport — Olympians, World Champions, pro players in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
    • Bachelor's degree in any subject
    • Proven experience using sport to mentor and coach life skills
    • Demonstrated motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional settings
    • Legal right to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
    • Willing to live in or relocate to Austin, TX
