Job Description



The Evergreen Center is a private non-profit organization that provides living and learning environments for children and adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities including autism, physical disabilities, neurobehavioral disorders, and other special needs. Job Description



The Chief Operating Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the day-to-day operations of Evergreen Center’s Residential Treatment program
  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of activities that support the Board approved strategic plan
  • Chairs Executive Team and Manager’s Meetings for the Children’s Residential Treatment Program
  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of administrative operational policies and procedures
  • Monitors and oversees activities related to personnel including training, evaluations, promotions/ demotions, schedule changes, conflict resolution, injury reporting and follow up
  • Acts as a liaison between the Evergreen Center’s Children’s Residential Treatment program and HR, IT, Facilities, QA, and other support teams as the on-site point of contact

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Review and monitoring of behavioral clinical activities
  • Reporting of restraints, time outs, and other clinical activities to licensing agencies as required by regulation
  • Coordinates clinical development activities and training in partnership with other executives and the Director of Professional Development

Additional Responsibilities:

  • When necessary, chairs internal review teams and provides follow up
  • Participates in the Parent Advisory Council and Human Rights Committee for Children’s Residential Treatment

Qualifications



• Master’s degree in behavior analysis, counseling, psychology, social work, education administration, healthcare administration, or a related field required. Doctoral degree or current enrollment in a doctoral program preferred.

• BCBA certification and Massachusetts LABA licensure, or other independent clinical licensure such as LMHC, LICSW, licensed psychologist, or a comparable credential, preferred.

• Ten years of progressively responsible experience in leadership, clinical services, operations management, or a combination of these areas.

• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and experience in a residential setting are both highly preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to oversee multidisciplinary programs, personnel, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and organizational operations.

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with individuals served, families, employees, senior leadership, governing bodies, regulatory agencies, public safety officials, and community partners.

• Strong leadership, professional judgment, problem solving, organizational, and decision making skills.
