Job Description

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

Cardinal Ritter College Prep, a St. Louis Archdiocesan coeducational college preparatory high school serving grades 9–12, is seeking a qualified and dynamic Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach. The successful candidate will provide leadership for all aspects of the girls soccer program while fostering a culture of athletic excellence, academic achievement, leadership development, and faith formation. The Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach will build and sustain a competitive program that reflects the mission and values of Cardinal Ritter College Prep and the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Organize, direct, and supervise the Girls Soccer Program for grades 9–12.
  • Plan and conduct preseason, regular season, postseason, and summer soccer activities.
  • Develop and implement training programs focused on skill development, conditioning, teamwork, sportsmanship, and player growth.
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director to schedule contests, coordinate travel arrangements, and manage program-related logistics.
  • Assist with the development and management of the soccer program budget.
  • Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches.
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress and promote college readiness and personal responsibility.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of soccer equipment and uniforms and oversee their care and distribution.
  • Compile and maintain team and individual statistics as required.
  • Coordinate practice schedules and facility usage in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
  • Serve as a positive representative of the soccer program with students, parents, faculty, alumni, community members, and media outlets.
  • Ensure compliance with all Archdiocesan, school, conference, and MSHSAA policies and regulations.
  • Promote leadership, character formation, and sportsmanship consistent with Catholic values.
  • Support and uphold the mission, philosophy, and expectations of Cardinal Ritter College Prep.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the President, Principal, or Athletic Director.

Job Qualifications

  • Prior high school and/or collegiate coaching experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of soccer fundamentals, conditioning programs, game strategy, and player development.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop student-athletes both on and off the field.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church and Catholic education.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online student information systems.
  • Ability to meet all Archdiocesan and school requirements, including background checks and Safe Environment compliance.
