Job Description

This role supports commercial concrete projects, including flatwork for new construction such as apartment buildings and hotels. You will work closely with a lead worker to perform hands-on concrete labor, focusing on setting up, pouring, and breaking down concrete forms on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead worker with day-to-day concrete operations on commercial construction projects.
  • Transport and position concrete forms and related materials around the job site.
  • Wheelbarrow concrete from the delivery point to designated pour areas in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Help set up forms prior to pours, ensuring they are properly aligned and secured.
  • Assist with tearing down and removing forms after the concrete has set.
  • Use hand tools such as trowels and other concrete tools to support finishing and surface preparation as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the project.
  • Follow site safety procedures and use tools and equipment according to instructions.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of hands-on concrete experience, particularly in commercial or construction environments.
  • Proven experience performing concrete labor tasks such as form work, flatwork, and material handling.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Proficiency using hand tools commonly used in concrete work, including trowels and other basic concrete tools.
  • Ownership of basic personal tools such as a hammer and measuring tape.
  • Ability to work effectively on active construction sites and follow instructions from supervisors and lead workers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a concrete finisher or assisting finishers on commercial projects.
  • Familiarity with using wheelbarrows and other manual material handling equipment on construction sites.
  • Previous experience working on new construction projects, including flatwork for buildings or similar structures.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $40.00/hr.
