Job Description

Salary: $75,168 - 156,600 per year Requirements:

  • We want someone with at least 4 years of back-end development experience using Python, Java, Node.js, or similar languages; internships or personal projects may count toward this background.
  • We require at least 2 years of practical Python experience.
  • We look for at least 1 year of experience building or integrating RESTful APIs using standard design principles or OpenAPI.
  • We require at least 1 year of experience using Git and GitHub for source control, branching, and pull requests.
  • We expect at least 1 year of experience working with relational or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
  • We must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • A bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Exposure to AWS services such as CloudWatch, S3, IAM, ECS, or ECR is preferred.
  • Familiarity with microservices or serverless concepts is preferred.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Basic experience with Docker workflows and container registries is preferred.
  • Experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django is preferred.
  • Awareness of automated code scanning and static analysis tools is preferred.
  • A basic understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is optional.
  • Ability to create simple architecture diagrams or workflow documentation is preferred.
  • Interest in improving development processes and learning new tools or technologies is preferred.
  • Proficiency with common office productivity applications is preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • We assist in designing, building, testing, and maintaining back-end services and applications.
  • We help develop and support RESTful APIs using standard API design practices and OpenAPI specifications.
  • We work with AWS services including Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and S3.
  • We participate in DevOps workflows that support development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • We help create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
  • We assist with basic Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or similar tools.
  • We use Git and GitHub for branching, pull requests, code reviews, and team collaboration.
  • We support database integrations and write simple queries for relational and NoSQL systems.
  • We help implement logging, metrics, dashboards, and application troubleshooting.
  • We apply secure coding practices and responsible dependency management.
  • We contribute to code reviews and help develop automated tests.
  • We maintain clear technical documentation for APIs, cloud resources, deployment steps, and troubleshooting guidance.
  • We collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.
  • We assist with production deployments, issue analysis, and bug resolution.
  • We keep up to date with emerging back-end, cloud, and DevOps tools and best practices.
