Salary: $117,500 - 249,780 per year Requirements:
- We look for 10+ years of professional experience applying AI/ML to deliver strong commercial data science outcomes.
- We need expertise with electronic health records or unstructured data analysis.
- We expect deep experience building traditional AI/ML models, including supervised learning, unsupervised learning, model validation, deep learning architectures, and NLP techniques.
- We need strong command of NLP and generative AI, including the ability to use, fine-tune, evaluate, and integrate commercially available models and local LLMs.
- We look for hands-on experience building GenAI applications such as RAG systems, LLM evaluation frameworks, or GenAI-powered internal tools.
- We need advanced Python programming skills, with some experience in R and/or SQL.
- We expect expertise with Databricks or a similar cloud-based model development environment, including mlflow, experimentation organization, data catalogs, and compute cluster setup.
- We need familiarity with software engineering best practices such as Git, unit testing, local development, and environment management.
- We look for knowledge of ML engineering and MLOps concepts and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Docker, AWS Lambda, and Linux.
- We require a degree in a relevant field such as computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, applied math, actuarial science, or economics.
- We value excellent communication skills, both in person and by phone or email.
- We seek someone who can understand client analytical needs, translate them into a plan, and execute effectively.
- We prefer a customer-focused mindset, strong results orientation, and the ability to explain findings in business terms.
- We value a constructive, proactive approach, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a small team with limited oversight.
- We need proven project and timeline management skills, including the ability to guide the work of others.
- Preferred qualifications include a PhD in a relevant field or an actuarial designation such as FCAS/FSA.
- Preferred background includes experience in healthcare, insurance, finance, life sciences, or similar industries.
- Preferred experience at an InsurTech or FinTech company.
- Preferred experience working in HIPAA, PHI, or PCI compliant environments.
Responsibilities: - We research, develop, deploy, and maintain traditional AI/ML models using industry best practices.
- We work extensively with GenAI models to create solutions for internal and external use cases and strengthen our internal capabilities through tooling and thought leadership.
- We partner with Product, Business Development, ML Engineering, and IT to launch new data science products and support our existing offerings.
- We help shape best practices and continuous improvement on the data science team through planning, audits, peer review, coaching, and experimentation strategy.
- We develop and implement commercially viable model-based solutions for healthcare, insurance, life sciences, and adjacent markets.
