A hospital in Las Cruces is seeking an MRI Technologist to join its imaging department. Position Overview
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and safety standards. This role works closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic imaging and a positive patient experience.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of imaging quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform MRI examinations according to established imaging protocols and physician orders
• Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while ensuring comfort and safety
• Operate MRI equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
• Review images for quality and completeness prior to submission for interpretation
• Follow MRI safety standards and screening procedures for patients and staff
• Maintain accurate patient records and procedure documentation
• Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to support timely patient care
• Monitor equipment performance and report operational concerns as needed
• Provide compassionate care and clear communication throughout the imaging process
Qualifications
• ARRT registered in MRI or certified through ARMRIT required
• Current New Mexico MRI license required or ability to obtain prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety practices and imaging procedures
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
