AGAPE Mission: To strengthen children and families with the healing love of Christ through counseling and social services. The successful candidate will be a member of a local body of Christ and live in agreement with the AGAPE Statement of Faith. Morning Star Sanctuary is a biblically based organization that exists to provide refuge for victims of domestic violence and their children consistent with AGAPE’s Mission and Statement of Faith.
Working Conditions: This position is based in a residential shelter setting where survivors and their families reside. Employees will work in designated office space while regularly interacting within shared common areas of the shelter. The environment requires professionalism, sensitivity, and respect for the privacy and confidentiality of residents.
Reports To: Shelter Supervisor
Physical Requirements: Office work in a residential shelter setting with occasional standing, walking, setting up or moving materials or furniture for meetings or activities, and some cleaning duties are required, including preparing a room for a new survivor. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Position Purpose: To provide service management, advocacy, support, crisis intervention, safety planning, assessments, and follow-up services to survivors of domestic violence and their families.
Direct Services: Provides assessments, advocacy, safety planning, crisis intervention, and community resources to survivors of domestic violence and their families. Works directly with victims to determine areas of need, set goals, and develop a service management plan. As needed/assigned, facilitates support/education groups for victims. Attends trauma-informed training.
Administrative: Answers phones (hotline or crisis calls), assist victims with required paperwork and program intake. Provides information, linkage, and referral with service providers. Provides administrative team support.
Reporting: Documents client interactions and crisis interventions into database software. Communicates shift details with supervisors.
Qualifications:
• Active member of a local church and willingness to sign AGAPE’s statement of faith
• BA/BS in human service field or equivalent training and work experience
• Experience in crisis intervention and working with victims of domestic violence preferred
• Team player with strong decision-making skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Deep commitment to AGAPE’s mission and values
